The lavandin is a hybrid resulting from two varieties of wild laveands: "True" lavender and "aspic" or "spic" lavender.
The product of distillation of floral capitulas of the aromatic plant is called:
- essential oil when it comes to a single plant
- petrol when it comes to a mixture of 2 plants
- Extracts when it comes to mixing multiple plants.
Here are some of the virtues and uses of the essential oil of Lavandin, among so many others:
On the skin:
- in friction, repeated after ¼ hour, calm and soothes the mosquito bites, itching, muscle pain, blows, rheumatism;
- excellent healing of crevasses between the fingers, small wounds, buttons, burns;
- For toning massages: mix a few drops with soft almond oil, or vaseline in dough;
- On the scalp: one or two drops are an excellent repellent tale lice;
In the bath:
- A few drops mixed with a tablespoon of milk or powdered sugar constitute a toning bath and provide relaxation and appeasement;
In the house:
- A few drops in soil washing water, on the vacuum filter, in the wc bowl;
- Vaporing in cabinets, wardrobes to remove mites or hangings, on dry bouquets, rotten pots, to clean the ambient air;
- In diffusers, nebulizers or burning-perfumes, it perfectly removes cold tobacco smells, or cooking odors, while very pleasantly perfuming your home
- A few drops at the same time as the laundry in the washing machine, bring freshness to your laundry;
- Natural solvent, it advantageously replaces the acetone to eliminate traces of adhesive dressings, and remove labels on bottles and vials;
- Mixed with beeswax, it constitutes an excellent encaustic for waxing.
